Talented wedding videographer creating high quality wedding videos filmed in the finest countryside and coastal venues in west & north Wales, Powys & the Cotswolds since 2008.
My name is Sally Davies and I LOVE my job! Before becoming a successful wedding videographer I was a BBC film maker, an invaluable background for learning filming and editing skills which I now use to create professional wedding videos.
From big farming weddings and Asian weddings with hundreds of guests to intimate beach side ceremonies and elopements, I have experience of all kinds of weddings. Every wedding is different to me, so no two films will be the same. They’re all bespoke. But they all share an Orchid Films style: a skilful blend of engaging imagery with meaningful audio set to beautiful music. A timeless memory of your special day.
Why not get in touch and tell me all about your wedding? I’d love to hear about it!
From the moment you book you can be confident of personal service and attention to detail. I’m friendly and organised, and love knowing what makes people tick. But on the big day you’ll hardly notice me as I usually film alone with minimal kit, blending into the background as much as possible.
Orchid Films is recommended by a number of prestigious venues including Portmeirion and Tall Johns House, and some of my other favourites are Winkworth Farm, Whatley Manor, Lemore Manor, Peterstone Court and Tyn Dŵr Hall.
A rustic barn wedding, a beach-side ceremony or a venue with stunning views; if yours is a coast or country wedding then we’d be a good match.
More than two thirds of couples choose not to have a video, and several surveys have shown that it’s often a couple’s number 1 regret afterwards. Before your wedding all the attention is on the day itself, but what are you left with when the cake and confetti are long gone? With a cinematic Orchid Films wedding video you are able to re-live the excitement and emotion of the day, not only seeing what happened but hearing it too.
The cost depends mainly on the type of film you’d like and how much of the day you’d like to be filmed. We offer a five minute Cameo highlights film or a longer 20-30 minute documentary style edit with a 2-3 minute trailer plus speeches, ceremony and first dance in full if you wish. If you’d like to let us know some details about your day (locations, time of ceremony) and what sort of film you’d like we can give you a personal quote.
As a guide, the starting price for a Cameo film covering the whole day is £750. There may also be an extra modest charge for travelling and overnight accommodation depending on the venue. If you’d like drone footage or a second videographer that can also be arranged.
Experience, talent and attention to detail.
On the day itself I’m calm and discreet, and through long experience know the best place to be and what will work in the edit. I make the most of available light, and am always on the look out for creative shots. The edit is where the movie magic happens. It’s all about story telling, which is where my BBC background kicks in. I know how to craft together stunning imagery with meaningful audio, leaving you with a wedding film that is beautiful, emotional and engaging.
I’ve covered most kinds of wedding, including same sex ceremonies, Asian weddings and elopements.
We’d be delighted if you chose us! Once we’ve confirmed your day is available we ask for a non-returnable booking fee to secure the date. The balance is due a month before the wedding, when we also arrange to meet up with you, preferably in person but sometimes via Skype, to go through the details of the day and answer any questions about filming. We aim to deliver the final film within two months of your wedding. You receive it on a USB suitable for Smart TV’s and computers or online, as the traditional wedding DVD has had its day!
